skin care routine/tips

Hi loves,

Finals are right around the corner which means stress!! And what comes with stress....acne and we don't want acne for the holiday season!  So I'm going to give you my current skin cafe routine and some tips to keep that face clear.

So my first tip is :
-Reduce milk, milk has a lot of hormones which can cause breakouts.  A great alternative is almond milk or soy milk.
-Water really makes a difference!  Drinking about 8 cups of water a day is the healthy amount and it really helps clear your skin and keep it hydrated and soft
-Sleep because no sleep = stress = breakouts!!  Yes finals are stressful but don't let that get the best of you. Make sure you get at least 7 hours of sleep a night!
-Also, lack of sleep makes you binge eat = breakouts!! If you're not sleeping enough, you don't have the energy in your body to keep you going for a day and a result of that is eating unhealthy foods that you think are giving you energy.

So my current skin care routine...

Morning:
Garnier Shine Control Cleansing Gel
Clean & Clear Astrigent
Acne spot treatment if needed
Clinique moisturizer (yellow)

Night:
Garnier Blackhead Eliminating Scrub
Clean & Clear Astrigent
acne spot treatment
Cetaphil moisturizer

Once a week:
Kiko Milano Energy Detoxifying FaceMask

OR

Freeman Purifying face mask (Acai)

Any tips to share about keeping your skin clear?

fall has arrived!

Hey there!

So my favorite time of year has arrived...FALL!!! Everything about this season makes me happy...Halloween, the scented candles, pumpkin spice lattes, leaves, thanksgiving...you name it and I love it!  My friend Bryanna and I have been taking some great pictures this year and using our beautiful surroundings to our advantage. One day last week we noticed how stunning the leaves were so we had to just have some fun.

More posts to come!!

My hiking adventure (shocking, I know)

Hey loves!

So I have a fun activity story for you all!   My roommate and I have been saying we want to go hiking in the Hudson area for a while now, so when the opportunity came around, we took it!  We went to BreakNeck Ridge and started this hike. Now, we thought we would be going through a trail with some rocks and rough terrain but little did we know, we were actually climbing mountains. It was tough but we had a great time and I'm really happy I accomplished something on my bucket list!  Also, the view was well worth it.

If you have the chance to go on a hike or even a trail, do it! You'll be happy.

the parents are here, the parents are here!!

So the weekend arrived...parents weekend!! I was super excited to see my parents, especially since my school has so many great activities for the weekend.
We started off on Friday night getting a delicious sushi dinner. We then went back to the hotel and had a great nights sleep.
On Saturday, we started the day with a tailgate and a football game. Unfortunately we lost the game but it was so close!
Some other fun activities they had for us was a photo booth, a fair and boat tours of the Hudson River!
For dinner we went to this amazing place called Shadows. It over looks the Hudson and just had an incredible view. I had to show you all this amazing mason jar s'mores dessert. It had vanilla ice cream, toasted marshmallows, chocolate syrup and graham crackers....so delicious.
That night, we were lucky enough to go to the Pentatonix concert the school offered. I had watched a view YouTube videos prior to this concert but let me tell you, hearing them perform live was so amazing. They're such a talented group, you all should check them out!

Sadly, the weekend had to come to an end, but we ended it well with a delicious BBQ down by the river.
