down by the river

Hi loves!

So this post is a little overdue but I still wanted to share with you!  One of my best friends, Bryanna, loves to take pictures and she was kind enough to take some of me, showcasing my outfits.  Being that our school is on the beautiful Hudson River, we had to take advantage of the beautiful scenery.

This day and little photoshoot really made me happy.  Fall weather was beginning, leaves were changing and I got my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season from Starbucks and not to mention, I loved my outfit.  I wore my favorite boyfriend jeans from the GAP, tan sweater from Forever 21, scarf from American Eagle and my trusty Sperry's.

Another beautiful day by the river!  For this shoot, I'm wearing this amazing My Tribe blouse, my GAP boyfriend jeans and my new ankle booties from Forever 21.  I really loved my makeup this day as well.   It's simple but makes a statement.  I did my basic brown liner but used a darker blush and used taupe liner on my lips.  This is a simple and easy fall look.

Have pretty scenery near you?  Take advantage of it and have some fun!

skin care routine/tips

Hi loves,

Finals are right around the corner which means stress!! And what comes with stress....acne and we don't want acne for the holiday season!  So I'm going to give you my current skin cafe routine and some tips to keep that face clear.

So my first tip is :
-Reduce milk, milk has a lot of hormones which can cause breakouts.  A great alternative is almond milk or soy milk.
-Water really makes a difference!  Drinking about 8 cups of water a day is the healthy amount and it really helps clear your skin and keep it hydrated and soft
-Sleep because no sleep = stress = breakouts!!  Yes finals are stressful but don't let that get the best of you. Make sure you get at least 7 hours of sleep a night!
-Also, lack of sleep makes you binge eat = breakouts!! If you're not sleeping enough, you don't have the energy in your body to keep you going for a day and a result of that is eating unhealthy foods that you think are giving you energy.

So my current skin care routine...

Morning:
Garnier Shine Control Cleansing Gel
Clean & Clear Astrigent
Acne spot treatment if needed
Clinique moisturizer (yellow)

Night:
Garnier Blackhead Eliminating Scrub
Clean & Clear Astrigent
acne spot treatment
Cetaphil moisturizer

Once a week:
Kiko Milano Energy Detoxifying FaceMask

OR

Freeman Purifying face mask (Acai)

Any tips to share about keeping your skin clear?

fall has arrived!

Hey there!

So my favorite time of year has arrived...FALL!!! Everything about this season makes me happy...Halloween, the scented candles, pumpkin spice lattes, leaves, thanksgiving...you name it and I love it!  My friend Bryanna and I have been taking some great pictures this year and using our beautiful surroundings to our advantage. One day last week we noticed how stunning the leaves were so we had to just have some fun.

More posts to come!!

My hiking adventure (shocking, I know)

Hey loves!

So I have a fun activity story for you all!   My roommate and I have been saying we want to go hiking in the Hudson area for a while now, so when the opportunity came around, we took it!  We went to BreakNeck Ridge and started this hike. Now, we thought we would be going through a trail with some rocks and rough terrain but little did we know, we were actually climbing mountains. It was tough but we had a great time and I'm really happy I accomplished something on my bucket list!  Also, the view was well worth it.

If you have the chance to go on a hike or even a trail, do it! You'll be happy.

the parents are here, the parents are here!!

So the weekend arrived...parents weekend!! I was super excited to see my parents, especially since my school has so many great activities for the weekend.
We started off on Friday night getting a delicious sushi dinner. We then went back to the hotel and had a great nights sleep.
On Saturday, we started the day with a tailgate and a football game. Unfortunately we lost the game but it was so close!
Some other fun activities they had for us was a photo booth, a fair and boat tours of the Hudson River!
For dinner we went to this amazing place called Shadows. It over looks the Hudson and just had an incredible view. I had to show you all this amazing mason jar s'mores dessert. It had vanilla ice cream, toasted marshmallows, chocolate syrup and graham crackers....so delicious.
That night, we were lucky enough to go to the Pentatonix concert the school offered. I had watched a view YouTube videos prior to this concert but let me tell you, hearing them perform live was so amazing. They're such a talented group, you all should check them out!

Sadly, the weekend had to come to an end, but we ended it well with a delicious BBQ down by the river.

back to life, back to reality...

hey hey hey!

I'm so happy to say I'm back at school! I'm going to try to get a schedule

down of weekly posts and such, because I need to show my school outfits!  I'm super excited to be back at school and thought this was a great opportunity to show back to school outfits as well.

Since I had Monday off for Labor Day, I have only 6 outfits to show, but they're still great ones!

Firs day of class!  It was soooo insanely hot this week so I needed to be cool, especially because I have no air conditioning...but I needed to look my best, it was the first week back!  For the first day, I wore my floral crop from Mandee with these royal blue, running like shorts (so comfy and great fit), from F21.  On my feet are my Dolce Vita brown sandals from Marshalls.

Day 2: In love with this black top from F21.  Unforutnatley, I didn't get a picture of the back but it has 3 straps that cross in the back.  I wore my high rise, light washed jean shorts from American Eagle and my favorite caged sandals fro Marshalls.
Day 3: I have no classes on Thursdays but I felt like being cute anyway!  My roommate and best friend, Courtenay, gave me this adorable dress from Marshalls.  I;m really obsessed with it because it has such an amazing fit.  It was perfect for the weather.  Also, obsessed with the pattern.

Happy Friday!! I was dying to wear this skirt so I thought, why not wear it on the long awaited Friday! I wore a white v-neck and this adorable denim washed skater skirt, both from F21.  On my feet are these adorable quilt white sneakers from Charlotte Russe. I had to wear my hair up basically all week because it was to hot to do it or even leave it down so with this outfit I decided to add some flare to my high bun with a twisty head band from F21.

Friday night, first night out!  My friends and I went to a party, it was a chill night.  I did my hair but of course,  it was too hot so I decided to put it in a low pony.  My tube top is from Garage and my new black shorts from F21, I really liked this outfit paired with my nude wedges.

Saturday fun!  This was such an amazing night.  My friends and I went to a club, and we danced all night, non stop.  I wanted to be casual chic for this night.  So I wore tho navy blue tank that I got from Aerie and underneath a grey striped bandeu from Garage.  I wore my favorite jeans out this night from American Eagle and my black wedges.  I really loved this outfit.  My hair slicked back in a bun and my darker makeup really pulled the look together.  I have to give a shout out to the lipstick I wore because I'm obsessed.  It is Wet n' Wild in the color Sugar Plum Fairy.

Hope you liked the looks and saw some pieces you want to get yourself!  I'm going to try to do weekly posts, of at least an outfit or 2 I really loved.
